electric ray bingo academy

thursday 24 may @ the vaults

Electric Ray wanted to throw a party. But we wanted it to be a party where you leave a better person than when you came in. With that in mind Karl and Meredith have spent months building a subterranean bingo training facility that will provide the setting not just for an awesome party but will also equip guests with the skills to survive in the challenging world of modern bingo.

Doors open 6.30pm. Please arrive by 7pm. The bingo will start as soon as everyone is in and settled with a drink. There will be three intense bingo sessions of about 30 mins each with breaks in between for drinking, chatting, laughing and loving life. If you can't make it by 7pm don't panic just come whenever and join in, you'll just miss a bit of bingo. We'll be partying until late.

VENUE ADDRESS: The Vaults, Leake Street, London SE1 7NN. The entrance to the venue is in the tunnel covered in graffiti that forms part of Leake Street, accessible from either Lower Marsh or York Road. Nearest tube station is Waterloo. Don't go to The Vaults Theatre that's a different venue round the corner.

DRESS CODE: Whatever.

WARNING: In order to fully prepare you for all future bingo scenarios some parts of the training may feature very strong language which some people may find offensive. If you think you might be offended the Academy might not be the place for you. The event also features strobe lighting.

BINGO CARDS: You will be given your bingo book on arrival with all the games you need.

BINGO DABBERS: You will be given a standard novice bingo felt pen on arrival. The more courageous students among you may wish to upgrade to a more expert level bingo "Dabber" for £2. These will be available at the bar but should be handled with respect. Don't run before you can walk.

FOOD: Food will be available in the form of hotdogs from hotdog experts Popdogs. You can see the menu HERE. They will have veggie hotdogs (but not vegan, sorry). And they won't have chips we're afraid because of technical chip-cooking issues. So just hotdogs x

In the build up to your training day with us please prepare yourselves by eating well and taking regular exercise. And be sure to arrive at the Academy with a "can do" attitude. We can help you as much as we're able, but ultimately whether or not you reach your true bingo potential is down to you and you alone. Commit to the challenge and give it your all.

See you in the bingo arena.
